How to Help             

Every month, donations of money or items requested by the hospitals we serve help us prepare our shipments. Such contributions will be very much appreciated by all those that are serving under the Red, White, and Blue.

Perhaps you represent a civic organization or school that wants to organize a drive or fundraiser on our behalf. Church groups, Boy Scout troops, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts and auxiliary units, and Blue Star Mothers groups have been regular organizers of such efforts.

The Chaplains Closet is an entity within LRMC Pastoral Services that cares for the needs of wounded and ill service members medevac’d from the GWOT.  The Chaplains Closet provides items of comfort to “fill holes” until the service member’s personal items can catch up with them in the military healthcare system. 

The Chaplains Closet services more than 750 service members each month. 

Please follow the below list to a "T" as this prevents our hospitals and medics from a crisis situation with storage of unusable items.

Please do not send hotel toiletries as we have no contacts that are requesting them.  It is a expense to ship these to us and for us to have to dispose of them.  If and when LRMC does request toiletries they are travel size and not HOTEL size items. Thank you.

Please do not send the following items.  LRMC does not have the man-power to distribute excess items.  Nor does the military allow them to ship items to other units.  Please follow our list to prevent any hardship on the LRMC staff.  Thank you!

• Lotion any size (There is enough lotion at LRMC for years to come)
• Baby wipes (These are not needed by patients at LRMC)
• Q-tips
• Feminine products
• Bar soap, large or hotel size
• Please NO Large Economy Size Toiletries-this includes TOOTH PASTE.
• Please No Pre-Packaged Toiletry Kits
• Hand towels or face clothes
• DO NOT SEND ANY knitted or crocheted items This includes ALL  lap blankets double, queen or king size blankets
• No Batteries of any kind
• Over the counter medications/any medication
• Coffee Mugs
• Candles, Matches, Lighters

• Signed holiday cards LRMC receives thousands more than the number of patients that come in all year and cannot possible distribute them all.
